The Galaxy Note has gone down in history

New PCMag reports suggest that Samsung’s Galaxy Note series is now history and will never return.

A new report indicates that Samsung has decided to abandon the Galaxy Note series altogether and stop developing it altogether. The popular family has also been removed from the 2022 annual production schedule, and its design will be included in the next version of the Galaxy S series. It is said that all these measures have been taken to increase the sales of Samsung clamshell phones.

According to Gizmocchina, although more than a year has passed since the latest release of the Samsung Galaxy Note series, the news about this family does not disappear easily. The story intensified last year when various reports were published about the end of the Galaxy Note era and the addition of its exclusive features to other Samsung phones. However, it was later revealed that the rumors about the death of the Galaxy Note were very exaggerated, as a Samsung official confirmed that a new device from the Galaxy Note family will be released in 2021.

But now it is almost the end of 2021 and there is still no sign of the release of the Note series phones this year. The only flagship offered by Samsung in 2021 was the S21 series. Interestingly, the ultra version of this family supports the stylus, which is one of the unique features of the Galaxy Note.

But recently another Samsung official confirmed that the release date of the new Galaxy Note device is now set for 2022. This seems a bit untrue, as the upcoming Galaxy S22 Ultra is being touted as a replacement for the Note 20 Ultra. It also inherits the S Pen body and slot design.

When all the pieces of the puzzle are put together, we find that Samsung itself has not yet been able to decide on the Note series and its future.

However, Samsung’s faith in its Fold series is not entirely unfounded. The company managed to sell about 2.3 million folding devices worldwide in the first half of 2021. This statistic does not take into account the success of the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, which was released in the second half of 2021.

Leaving aside the Note series could allow Samsung to produce more clamshell phones, especially from the Z Flip family. Samsung plans to sell 13 million of its Z Flip series next year.

If you were a die-hard Galaxy Note fan, you should not be too upset. Because if we look at this issue logically, we will realize that in fact, only the brand name of this family has been removed and its path continues with the Galaxy S22 Ultra series. Information released so far from the Ultra Galaxy S22 shows that this device inherits most of the features of the Galaxy Note 20 and may even offer more features than that.
